The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey
September 10, 14, 15, 19, & 21

Actor Patrick Fegley delivers a solo tour de force, effortlessly bringing to life every character in a small Jersey Shore town as he unravels the story of Leonard Pelkey, a tenaciously optimistic and flamboyant 14-year-old boy who goes missing. Leonard, a luminous force of nature whose magic is only truly felt once he is gone, becomes an unexpected inspiration as the town’s citizens question how they live, who they love, and what they leave behind.

Holy O
September 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, & 21

Vera is contemplating becoming a nun but has never considered celibacy one of her virtues. Her situation is complicated by the onset of rapturous prayers leading the audience to step into the role of advice-giving “saints” who help Vera make the biggest decisions of her life, starting with what shirt to wear. Vera's story explores the connection of body, spirit and sexuality with humor and heart. Awards at Edinburgh Fringe, Kennedy Center Page to Stage, and DC Theater Arts.

Layovers
September 12, 14, & 15

Play-pit balls, confetti, and pinkness abound in Layovers, a circus show which one reviewer said “descends inexorably and entertainingly into chaos!” Stuck in an airport of absurdist proportions, three strangers collide in hilarious fashion as they struggle with universal airport quandaries and their new companions. A raucous delight fusing juggling, dance, and music, Layovers is the scientific opposite of sleeping in an airport overnight.

Triple Jeopardy
September 13, 16, & 18

A Throne Room. A tyrant, a sycophant, and a cheap tavern bard. A coward, a firebrand, and a wise old sage. Three prisoners are brought before a king to be judged for their actions. Perhaps some deserve imprisonment, some freedom. Some deserve death, some deserve life. But we receive what is bestowed by fate. Should we accept that fate, or act upon our convictions? Do our choices even matter? Are you still reading? Do you like plays about kings? Cool! Triple Jeopardy.

From Train to Train
September 13, 14, & 15

A lone woman enters a train station. She’s searching for a thing that she can’t really identify. Perhaps it’s the goodness of mankind…that which separates the special from the ordinary. Here, she meets the person who embodies just that. But he doesn’t recognize it in himself. Her search ends here. Performed for the Equity Library Theatre in NYC and The Patchwork Play Festival in Chicago, From Train to Train is a romance at heart by award-winning playwright Steve Duprey.

All in the Timing
September 14, 15, & 19

What do speed dating, monkeys on a typewriter, the language of Unamunda, Philip Glass buying bread, Philadelphia cheesesteak, and the death of Leon Trotsky have in common? They're all diverse and equally hysterical one-act comedies by the maestro of the short form, David Ives! Catch this witty, fast-paced, romantic, absurdist, and existentially-minded performance pulled into the jarring light of art in the round.
