Tensions run high at a 1960’s Catholic school in the Bronx as a stern principal, Sister Aloysius, begins to have suspicions about a new priest, Father Flynn. As Aloysius digs deeper, she attempts to bring the truth to light while confronting abuses of power—and moral ambiguities—within the Church.
