A bit of a theatrical jack of all trades, her favorite recent projects have included directing the original play Gardenias at OFC Creations; writing and directing her original one-act Good Intentions at Everyone’s Theater Company; and getting back into her love of improv at The Focus Theater. When not in a theater, you can find Briar working as an event producer, bartending at Geva, or rambling to herself in French as she tries to keep her language skills sharp. Briar would like to thank castmate Connor McGuire for his encouragement to join the production; Sean and Grace for all of their hard work; and her mother for all of her support!

KIDANE MALIK (CHORUS 2) is an actor born and raised in Rochester. Kidane is thrilled to make his Company Theatre debut with this fantastic production of Oedipus Rex as a member of the Greek Chorus! While he's not onstage, you can find him teaching art to begrudging middle schoolers, playing with fresh-cut flowers, or wishing he was curled up, under a tree, with a fat book and a sweet breeze. He'd like to thank the director, Sean, for this incredible opportunity and all his tireless work on the many facets of this project, as well as the Stage Manager, Grace for her willingness to put in time with him and his fellow choral folk! He’s also thankful for all those involved in the wonderful production, his supportive family and friends, and especially his beloved partner, Em, whose love he is blessed to bask in every day. A special shoutout to Heather for inspiring him to join the most ancient and ever-heightened Dance of Voices :)

COURTNEY MALLEN (CHORUS 3) is thrilled to debut at The Company Theatre, a year after moving to Rochester from Austin, Texas, where she took a several-year acting hiatus to earn a graduate degree in architecture. Past favorite roles are Frosty Moons in Adult Entertainment (Director’s Circle Theater, Erie PA) and Chris in The Exorcist (Roadhouse Theatre, Erie PA). In her daily life she is a communications director, designing branding and strategy for an architecture nonprofit. Courtney is so grateful to Sean and Grace for this incredible opportunity, fellow chorus members Briar and Kidane for their teamwork and inspiration, partner Justin for endless line readings, reassurance, and tasty snacks, and her two cats, Special Agent Dale Cooper and Moppa who did absolutely nothing.
